This property has free WiFi. The chalet also comes with a bathroom. Beautiful large house with good facilities, big rooms and a very nice pool. Furtermore it is close to the beach and exceptionally clean.
Alessandro is the best host we could have wished for. He gave us a lot of suggestions about what to do in the area, took care of everything and went surfing with us. We highly recommend the place and hope to come back once! The property was exceptionally clean, and had everything you need to self cater. It is also the perfect distance away from Porto so that you are at staying in a big city, yet it is easy enough to get to Porto and the Douro Valley by train or car. The owner, Valter, is an amazing host as well and we really enjoyed chatting to him and hearing his advice about things to do in the area. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends! A traditional fishing village, the Esmoriz Beach has hung onto some of its "palheiro" huts, the wooden constructions dating back to the early part of the 20th century built by farmers as second homes so that whenever they were not working the lands, they could dedicate their time to fishing.
Nowadays, these places have been converted into holiday home even while fishing continues from the northern section of Esmoriz Beach. Sunbathers mostly head to the southern section, known as Barrinha, where all the necessary support infrastructures are to be found. This is also the best spot for surfing and bodyboarding although swimming requires the greatest care and not straying out of the waters under the surveillance of lifeguards, as these waters tend to be very dangerous. Praia da Barrinha has very consistent beach breaks: You can surf at this beach for around days of the year, and with waves of between 1 and 2. The cafe is powered by renewable energy and you can even rent a bike to explore the park, absolutely free provided you leave your ID as a deposit.
